Well, it’s that time of year again… it’s back to school time! As a small child, I loved nothing more than getting ready for a new school year. My parents would always take me each year to buy new school supplies, and I would then sit there on the floor of my bedroom organizing and reorganizing my pens, pencils and of course, my Trapper Keeper (yes, I was a child of the late 80’s and also a little OCD). So as you help your kid get ready for a new year and find yourself buying them a slew of new supplies, don’t forget to also include these five back to school essential oil recipes. They will help set your child up for a year of success AND health.
Are you ready to get started? Here goes!
Brain Booster Satchels
I can’t believe that more people haven’t thought of these! They are just perfect for smaller school-aged children who maybe can’t control themselves with a rollerball just yet (er,… like my own daughter!). All they have to do is whip it out right before any test. Plus, they can be full customized by decorating them however you want. Awesome!

DIY Hand Sanitizer
I know so many parents who send their kids to school with bottles of hand sanitizer, and I get it. You don’t want your child to get sick or bring anything home to the rest of your family. It’s just too bad that today’s superbugs are a direct result of common antibacterial ingredients like Triclosan. So try this all-natural DIY version instead. It’ll both protect your child and save you money.

Speaking of bugs, there is nothing worse than finding out that your child has head lice. A friend of mine’s daughter got lice. Too bad that her husband was the one who discovered it, and he did it before she came home from work. He was so upset to find that their daughter had lice than he shaved their four year old’s head! Needless to say, my friend was a little upset when she saw what he had done. Mama, don’t let that be you! You can avoid head lice all together with this spray.

DIY Breath Spray
The older your child gets, the more paranoid they become over their personal hygiene. Instead of sending them to school with packs of gum or Altoids which are filled with sugar, make some essential oil breath spray instead. This recipe can also be customized any way you would like. I personally love to use Spearmint. Yum!

Smarty Pants Blend
This essential oil blend will help your child stay calm and focused. Turn it into a rollerball for them to take to school and diffuse it at your house while they are busy working on homework. Oh yeah, and it smells crazy good!

A Word About Curated Posts
The above is a curated post. Some people call them round-ups, but I like the phrase “curated post” a lot better because I have spent hours putting each of these lists together. I have been a Pinterest junkie for years, and I am always looking for the newest or best or most interesting DIY project out there. Finding these items, testing them, and then using them on a daily basis is so much fun AND, I have discovered, helps save me money.
